Taking the twentieth century back at a glance, we realize that not only Japanese but also all other nations in the world have experienced two world wars, cold wars, and many other struggles caused by racial, religious, and ideological differences. Culture and dignity as a human being as well as human lives have consequently been lost.
Despite the fact that manifoldness of objects and things should essentially be a proof for riches of human society, it has often been a trigger for the struggles because we might have had used economical power to demonstrate our physical capability. Economy should essentially be what would help human beings find a way to live and would make it substantial. Shouldn’t it be cultural art and not struggles what would enable manifold people to live? We believe human wisdom could only light up when we complete to create and learn cultural art and to deepen international communication based on it. Osaka is a place where Japanese culture originated about 1500 years ago, which has been incubating world-known kabuki and bunraku etc. and has been popularizing those local cultures, so called kamigata-bunka towards all over the country. Water from the Bay of Osaka flows out to Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean, and Atlantic Ocean, fertilizing six continents and covering the water planet, earth. We strongly hope that cultural art that flows out from Osaka in a same way will contribute to the world peace without war that would fertilize the heart of people in the world and would appreciate the mutual manifoldness. We believe this music competition has the mission stated above and wish to mine a number of young artists and to help them spread their wings towards the world. |
